With the 2953 Daymar Rally taking place today (21 Jan), and with the recent Gavlev bike improvements to the game (3.16 and 3.16.1), I thought it would be timely to arrange an Org event in the form of a shortened Rally, preceded by an Org Ship Show on Daymar.

To that end, an event will be run on Sat 05 Feb 22 (2953) with the following planned:

• Event begins with the Org Ship Show (bring any ship you want – more variety the better) at Shubin Mining Facility SCD-1 on Daymar. This is the start point of the 2953 Daymar Rally and the facility has spawn points for ground vehicles, so it is ideally suited to begin the race.

• After around 60 mins for Org members to view the ships on display, the race will commence along a (roughly) 200 km route. 2 x Race Marshalls (Sm-ut and Cryptid) will act as markers. There will be a small task to do at each marker location and Race Marshalls will record when Org members have completed the task and are ready to move on to the next leg of the race.
• The (simple) tasks will be briefed at the start of the race. Players are responsible for starting the race properly prepared (all eventualities need to be planned for but the tasks will not require anything more than you can carry on your person).
• Fastest org member to complete the race wins and will be awarded aUEC 500K as a prize.
• The only ground vehicles allowed in this race are Grav Bikes. If you don’t own one already, they can be purchased as follows:
  • Aopoa Nox. Available to buy in game for aUEC 349,200 from ArcCorp (Area 18 Plaza – Astro Armada).
  • Drake Dragonfly. Available to buy in game for aUEC 272,700 from Hurston (Lorville, Teasa Spaceport – New Deal).
• Race Rules:
  • Player on Player Bike combat is not allowed and will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Players must complete both tasks at the two marker locations in order to complete the race.
  • A Carrack will be provided at the start point. Racers are encouraged to set this as their spawn point in the event of any unforeseen accidents during the race.
  • In the event that a player dies and respawns at the Carrack, they can continue the race but will need to begin again from the start.
  • Each bike is limited to a single player (no two player Dragonfly entries).
  • No ship assisted cheating racing is allowed. 
• Timings:
  • Daymar length of day is around 2 ½ hours.
  • In order to maximise daylight for the race, the Ship Show will begin at 1830 UTC and run until 1915 UTC. Part of the Ship Show will therefore be in darkness.
  • All Org ships are asked to be in position at the start (where possible) but if you are struggling with the start time please arrive before 1900 UTC.
  • The race will start at 1930 UTC promptly (subject to server crashes etc.). This should be sunrise at the start location.

  • If you intend to bring a ship to the Ship Show please indicate ship type (incl. livery if different to standard colours) in the comments below this article.
• Org members who don’t wish to participate in the race, but who would like to follow the racers in a ship, are welcome to do so but are asked not to interfere in the race.
